Security & Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This policy explains what Payroll Stack (“we”, “us”) collects when you use payroll-stack.com, why, and your choices. We designed the calculators so that you do not need to give us personal information to use them.

2. Data We Collect

• Calculator inputs: the pay, deductions and Form W-4 details you enter are calculated in your browser and are not sent to us. Your last inputs are saved in your browser's local storage so the form is filled in next time; clear your browser data to remove them.
• Usage data (with consent where required): if you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics records pages viewed and events such as “calculator submitted” with the state and pay frequency chosen. We never send income amounts or other figures you enter.
• Device data: our host and analytics providers receive your IP address, browser type and operating system, as any website does.
• Messages: anything you send us by email.

• To run and secure the website
• To understand which calculators and states are used, so we know what to build next
• To reply to your messages
• To comply with the law

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. Please see our Cookie Policy for full details and to manage your preferences.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Our hosting provider and, with your consent where required, Google Analytics process data on our behalf.

Advertising and affiliate links (future). We may later show ads served by Google or other networks, which use third-party cookies to show and measure ads, and links to payroll products that pay us a commission, which use the provider's tracking cookies once you click. Neither is active today. Before either is switched on we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy, and in regions that require it we will ask for your consent first.

6. Data Retention

Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account. Emails are kept as long as needed to answer them. Calculator inputs never reach us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states with privacy laws, the UK or the EU), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising, and to withdraw consent. We do not sell personal information.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we do not collect the figures you enter, there is little personal information for us to protect; no method of transmission is completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
