Frequently asked questions
How do I convert an hourly wage to a salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by the hours you work in a week, then by the paid weeks in a year. At 40 hours and 52 weeks, that is the hourly rate times 2,080. For example, $25 an hour is $52,000 a year.
How do I convert a salary to an hourly rate?
Divide the annual salary by hours a week times paid weeks a year. At 40 hours and 52 weeks, divide by 2,080: $60,000 a year is about $28.85 an hour.
What is the difference between biweekly and semimonthly pay?
Biweekly means every two weeks, 26 paychecks a year. Semimonthly means twice a month, usually on fixed dates, 24 paychecks a year. The same salary gives a smaller biweekly paycheck than a semimonthly one.
